Introduction
Welcome to Clair Obscur Expedition Map (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our App. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. -
Information We DO NOT Collect Directly
We do not directly collect personally identifiable information such as your name, address, or phone number unless you voluntarily provide it (e.g., if you contact us via email). -
Information Handled and How It Is Used
App Data (Local Storage):
The App stores essential data needed for its functionality directly on your device. This includes your markers (completed, custom), notes linked to markers, visible categories, ad unlock status, and language preferences.
This data remains on your device and is not collected or stored on our servers.
Google Drive Sync (Optional Feature):
If you choose to use the cloud sync feature, the App will allow you to sign in with your Google account to back up and restore your app data (markers, notes, unlock progress, custom markers, and visible categories) to your own Google Drive account.
We do not store your Google credentials. Authentication is handled directly by Google through their secure services.
Data stored in your Google Drive via this feature is encrypted before being uploaded for added security.
Use of Google Drive is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.
Crash Reports (Firebase Crashlytics):
We use Firebase Crashlytics to help identify and fix errors in the App.
Crashlytics may collect certain anonymous or pseudonymized information about your device and app usage when a crash occurs, such as device type, OS version, and error details. This information does not personally identify you.
For more information, please refer to the Firebase Privacy Policy and Google Privacy Policy.
Advertising (Google AdMob):
The free version of the App displays ads served by Google AdMob.
We do not show personalized ads.
AdMob may collect anonymous information to display ads, such as advertising identifiers (if not disabled in your device settings) and general regional information.
You can learn more about how Google handles data in its ad products here: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Users with the Premium version of the app will not see ads.
In-App Purchases (Google Play Billing):
We offer a Premium version of the App through in-app purchases, processed by the Google Play Store.
We do not collect or store your payment information. This data is securely handled by Google.
Purchases are subject to the Google Play Privacy Policy.
-

Data synced to your Google Drive remains in your Google account until you delete it from there.
Firebase Crashlytics data is retained according to Firebase’s policies. -
