Welcome to GameMaps (hereinafter, "the Application"). This Privacy Policy explains how GameMaps (hereinafter, "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your information.


By using our Application, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.


1. Information We Collect

To provide and improve our service, we collect the following types of information:


a) Account Information. The first time you use the Application, we automatically create an anonymous account with a unique user identifier (UserID) so that we can save your progress in the cloud, even if you never sign in. If you choose to sign in with a third-party service like Google, we additionally collect basic profile information, which may include:


Your name

Your email address

Your Google account identifier

b) User-Generated Content. We collect the data you actively create and save within the Application, such as:


Markers you have marked as "completed".

Custom markers you create on the maps.

Personal notes you add to markers.

To synchronize this data across your devices, we also store a device identifier alongside it.


c) Subscription Information. If you purchase the ad-free subscription, the purchase is processed by Google Play Billing. We send the purchase token to our server to validate it with Google and to keep your subscription status up to date. We store your subscription status (for example, active or expired) linked to your UserID. We do not receive or store your payment card details; those are handled entirely by Google.


d) Crash and Diagnostic Data (via Firebase Crashlytics). If the Application crashes, we collect diagnostic information to help us fix the problem, which may include:


Device type and unique identifiers.

Operating system.

Crash logs.

e) Advertising Information (AdMob). The free version of the Application uses Google AdMob, which may collect and use data to display ads. This may include your device's advertising identifier. If you are in the European Economic Area, we ask for your consent before showing personalized ads; if you decline, the ads shown are non-personalized.


2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:


To Provide and Sync our Service: Your UserID is essential to save your progress (completed markers, notes, custom markers) in the cloud and sync it across your devices.

To Personalize Your Experience: We use your progress data to show you what you have completed and what you are missing on each map.

To Manage Subscriptions: We validate and track your ad-free subscription so that ads are removed while it is active.

To Improve the Application: We use crash reports to find and fix bugs.

To Display Relevant Advertising: In the free version, we use AdMob to show ads that help fund the development and maintenance of the application.

To Communicate With You: We may use your email address to respond to your support requests or to send important information about the application.

3. Legal Basis for Data Processing (Users in the EU/EEA)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), our legal basis for collecting and using the personal information described in this Privacy Policy depends on the data we collect and the specific context in which we collect it.


Consent: We rely on your consent to process your account information, the content you generate, and to show personalized advertising.

Legitimate Interest: We process crash diagnostics and advertising data based on our legitimate interest in operating, maintaining, securing, and improving our application, as well as sustaining it through advertising and subscriptions.

Contract: We process your subscription information to provide the ad-free service you purchased.

5. Data Retention

We will retain your personal information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.


Account Data and User-Generated Content: This data is retained as long as your account is active. If you request the deletion of your account, this data will be deleted from our systems.

Crash Diagnostic Data: This data is retained by Firebase for a limited period for the purpose of diagnosing and fixing problems.

6. Children's Privacy

Our application is not directed at anyone under the age of 15. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 15. If we discover that a child under 15 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can take necessary actions.


7. Data Security

The security of your data is important to us. We use industry-standard security measures provided by Google Firebase to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction. However, remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.


8. Your Rights
